Privacy Policy

Last updated: November 1, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information RickRosinski.net collects, why it is used, and the choices available to site visitors. This is a personal blog operated by Rick Rosinski.

Information you provide

Comments

When you leave a comment, the site collects the information shown in the comment form along with your IP address and browser user-agent information. This information is used for moderation, security, and spam prevention. Your name and approved comment are displayed publicly. Your email address is not displayed publicly.

Contact form

When you use the Contact page, the site collects your name, email address, optional subject, and message so Rick can read and respond to your request. The form temporarily processes a privacy-protected value derived from your IP address to limit repeated submissions. Contact messages are delivered to the site administrator by email.

Cookies

If you leave a comment, you may choose to save your name, email address, and website in cookies for convenience. WordPress also uses cookies for administrator login, security, and display preferences. Login-related cookies apply only to people who have an account and sign in to the site.

Embedded content

Posts may contain embedded content, including YouTube videos. Embedded content behaves as though you visited the provider website directly. The provider may collect information, use cookies, or record your interaction according to its own policies. You can review the Google Privacy Policy, which applies to YouTube.

How information is used and shared

Information is used to publish and moderate comments, respond to messages, maintain site security, prevent abuse, and operate the website. Information may be processed by service providers needed to host the site, deliver email, or display embedded content. RickRosinski.net does not currently use advertising or visitor analytics services and does not sell visitor information.

How long information is retained

Comments and their associated metadata may be retained indefinitely so conversations and moderation history remain available. Contact messages may be kept for as long as reasonably needed to respond, maintain correspondence, or address abuse and security concerns. Backups may retain information until they expire through the normal backup rotation.

Your choices and requests

You may request a copy or deletion of personal information associated with your account or comments, subject to information that must be retained for administrative, legal, or security purposes. Use the Contact page to make a privacy request or ask a question about this policy.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when site features, hosting arrangements, or service providers change. The date at the top of the page identifies the latest revision.
